Safe School Ambassadors- Safe School Ambassadors will be having our first meeting of the new year at lunch on Wednesday, January 23rd in the MPR. Please bring your food with you and come as soon as possible so we can get started right away.  Thank you again for all you do on our campus!

Academy of the Canyons- For 8th graders interested in finding out more information on attending the Academy of the Canyons, there will be two mandatory information nights. Tuesday Jan 29th 6:30-8:30 PM at Canyon High School and Wednesday, Jan 30th 6:30-8:30 PM at West Ranch High School. Please see Mrs. Saunders in the counseling office for more detailed information.

Fun Friday- Come out to the Quad for Fun Friday on 11/25 we will be playing Penny toss, all you have to do is toss a penny into a bucket with candy. If your penny lands in the bucket then you get a piece of candy! To participate you just have to show up.

Art Showcase- If you created artwork for the “Many Families, One Community” art showcase, please turn it into the office today.

Penny Wars- PENNY WARS kicks off today during RELAX! The collection dates to help acquire funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society will be on Thursdays  for the next three weeks. Please pay close attention to the video during RELAX so you know everything about helping your team win this competition, and how you can help people fighting cancer.

Fire Drill- The fire drill that was scheduled for last Thursday, was obviously canceled due to the rain. The fire drill will now be this Friday. Please make note of the special schedule and follow your teacher’s instructions so we’re prepared in the case of an actual fire.

Advanced Placement and Honors Classes- 8th Graders that wish to know more about taking Advanced Placement and Honors classes in high school? Sierra Vista students and their parents are invited to attend Canyon high schools AP and Honors informational meeting on Wednesday, January 23rd at 6:30 PM in the Canyon high school library. Canyon has over 20 different AP classes for students. Please come to the meeting to learn more about the benefits and requirements of the AP program.

Soccer Intramural- February’s  lunch-time intramural event is soccer. We will have a round robin tournament. You can form a team or be a free agent and be placed on a team. Their is a link to sign up is on the SV homepage. You have till Sunday January 26th If you have any questions please talk to or email Mr. Drabinski.

Clubs and Activities- Today in Clubs and Activities we have the Dungeons and Dragons Club in room 1201., an SSA meeting in the MPR, and a DFY in SCV Meeting in 305 after school.
