Talent Show: If you’re a performer in the Talent Show, please remember to report to the MPR after school today. There is rehearsal after school on Monday as well. Please see Mrs. Terranova in room 621 if you cannot make any of these practices.

 

Canyon Band: On Thursday, March 21st at 2:30pm, ALL 8th graders interested in BAND at Canyon High School should plan on joining the CHS Band director, Mr. Hufford in room 401 at SV for a very important band meeting.

 

ASB canyon: Attention 8th graders that are going to Canyon next year, who are interested in applying for ASB. Mr. Hercinx will be hosting an informational meeting about the application process on Thursday, 3/21, during lunch in the MPR. Please be sure to attend if you’re interested in being in ASB at Canyon next year.

 

Book Fair: Our Scholastic Book Fair is next week at our SV Library. See you at the fair, because “Reading Rocks!!”

 

Talent show: Our 2019 Talent Show is this Wednesday, March 20th, from 6-7pm. Sierra Vista students get in free with their ID card; no need to get a ticket beforehand. Come and see Sierra Vista’s talented performers and support some of your fellow plainsmen!

 

Canyon High school Jamboree: “On Tuesday, 8th Graders will participate in the Canyon High School Jamboree. Students will be exploring College and Career Readiness Courses from the Canyon High School Pathways along with some of the electives offered at Canyon High School.  Students will be visiting the Jamboree through their elective classes. Students are encouraged to explore many different programs and classes to consider for their future careers and interests.

 

Presenters include: Auto, Computer Science, ASB, Photo, Movie Making,  Culinary, Multimedia Design, Digital Art, Yearbook, Dental, Medical and Animal Science, Fire Science, Law, French, and Journalism.

 

Students who take CCR classes are better prepared for their major upon entering college and have attained valuable job skills that help them be prepared to enter the workforce with experience. High School Graduates who complete a pathway in high school are awarded with the honor as “”Graduates of Distinction”” within the Hart School District.”

 

7th Grade Elective Requests: 7th graders will be making their elective requests for next school year on Tuesday,  through your current elective classes with Mrs. Knolls in the library. Even if you are planning on applying for a year long elective all students in 7th grade still need to put in their requests for electives for next year.  Ask your friends about their current electives to get an idea about what to choose as a preference for next year.

 

Learning Style Inventory In Naviance: A reminder for students who need to complete their Learning Style Inventory in Naviance: If Ms. Roth gave you a blue sheet, please make sure to return it to Ms. Roth by Friday 3/22. Thank you!

 

Clubs and Activities: Today in Clubs and Activities, we have the chess and games club in room 301, the fitness club in the fitness center after school, and the dance club in the MPR after school.
