Mayor Marsha McLean along with Old Town Newhall Library staff members, Friends of the Santa Clarita Public Library and community members joined in commemorating new, donated furniture in the Old Town Newhall Library’s Children’s Area with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, May 6.

The furniture is a donation by the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library in memory of Robert E. “Bob” Thompson. Bob was an active member of the Friends of Santa Clarita Public Library from 2012 through 2017.
