Ribbon Cutting for Santa Clarita’s First Archery Range

Santa Clarita City Council, state representatives, and community members came out to celebrate the official opening of the Santa Clarita Archery Range on the morning of Thursday, May 23. It is the city’s first archery range, located in the Haskell Canyon Open Space.

SCV Archery members were on hand to instruct community members as well as local dignitaries on how to be an expert at archery; Mayor Marsha McLean gave it a shot, hitting the bullseye on her first try.

SCV Archery is a nonprofit organization and the group developed the one-acre range in partnership with the city of Santa Clarita. The Haskell Canyon Open Space was chosen as its location because of the amount of space needed for archery practice, keeping archers and trail users alike at a safe distance from practice targets. The archery range is available and open to the public seven days a week from dusk till dawn.
