Popcornopolis: Hey Sierra Vista! It’s time to turn in those Popcornopolis orders! Please take them to your math teacher to check your form. The money from this fundraiser goes into each department’s account to purchase equipment and materials for all of your classes. Let’s get poppin’ Sierra Vista!

Healthy Lifestyles Club: Did you want to come to the Healthy Lifestyles Club meeting last week and couldn’t make it? Good news! We’re having another start-up meeting this Wednesday, October 23rd, at lunch in room 615 with Mrs. Flaherty. We’ll discuss what the club is all about and how you can get involved and help make it a success! So bring your lunch and we’ll see you there.

October Birthdays: Hey sierra vista! If your birthday is in October, come out to the outdoor stage with your ID card Tuesday at lunch to receive a free cookie and plainsman buck. Happy Birthday from ASB!

DFY in SCV Meeting: Attention DFY in SCV Members, don’t forget to meet in room 612 during lunch today!

“Creepy Creatures”: Attention all 7th graders. This Thursday during lunch, the SV Library will be hosting a Brown Bag Presentation with the park rangers of the Placerita Nature Center. It’s called “Creepy Creatures” where you’ll get to see live animals that slither, crawl, and fly, while looking for their prey. Get a free ticket from your life science teacher. We will also allow non-ticket holders to attend if space allows, so be sure to come to the library right away at the beginning of lunch. You may eat in the library for this event, plus we will provide free granola bars and water bottles. Hope to see you there!

Let’s Do This Fundraiser Prizes: Attention “Let’s Do This” fundraiser participants: the prize distribution day for students who obtained $100 or more in donations is THIS FRIDAY, in the MPR, at LUNCH! Please check the colored lists around campus to see which prize level table you’ll report to for your prizes on Friday. Please be sure to report to the MPR at the beginning of lunch to get your prizes. Please also be sure to bring your student ID card with you to get your prizes. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Terranova ahead of time in room 621.

Advanced Art Chalk Mandalas: The Advanced Art class has been working hard all week to create their outdoor chalk mandalas. Mandala is the Sanskrit word for “circle”. It is a form of art that stems from Buddhist and Hindu traditions and are often used as a spiritual teaching tool to strengthen meditation and increase focus. If you haven’t had a chance to see them, stop by the area between the Library and the office building. They will be washed away today during D period, so stop by soon!

The Teacher of the Month: The Teacher of the Month for October is Mr. Copenhaver!!! The students nominated him because he’s such an excellent guitar teacher and is very funny. Congratulations!

Halloween Cake Decorating: Do you like cake? Do you like decorating cake? If you do, then come and join the Halloween fun on Thursday, October 24 at 2:15 pm. in room 901. Mrs. Fossen will be teaching fun decorating ideas for your Halloween Cake. Sign up in the Counseling office. Space is limited to the first 30 students. Don’t be left out! Sign up today!

Painting Under Pressure Art Competition: Want some cash? Love to do art? Then join the Painting Under Pressure Art Competition taking place at Academy of the Canyons Plaza on Saturday, November 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Create art on any aspect of the topic of “stress” in any form (except performance art) and bring it to the competition by noon that day to compete. First place will earn $200, Second place will earn $100, and third place will earn $50. To sign up see Mrs. Flaherty in room 615 for a flyer with the link by October 31.

Clubs and Activities: Today in Clubs and Activities we have the SV Cares Club in the SLC, Model Builders Club in room 501, Karaoke Club in room 607, and Chess and Games Club in room 301.
