Performing Arts Winter Concert: Do you enjoy holiday tunes and supporting your creative friends? Then join us on Tuesday, December 10 for Sierra Vista Performing Arts’ Winter Concert. The band and choir will be kicking off the holiday season with all of your favorite tunes and a bake sale to help us raise money for our annual Disneyland Festival. Tickets are free for students or $5 for adults. Happy Holidays! End Of The Year Field Trip: Attention 8th graders: this year’s end of the year field trip will be to Universal Studios Grad Bash on Friday, May 22nd! Transportation and admission only costs $85, and this special night includes DJs, exclusive park access for grad night students ONLY, and more. You can purchase your ticket starting Monday, December 2. Students who purchase their ticket BEFORE winter break get to choose which bus they want to ride to and from the part, so don’t wait, because students who purchase their ticket AFTER winter break, will get assigned to a bus randomly. Library Job Earning Money: Attention 8th graders: Do you like to visit our SV Library? Would you like to have a real job and earn money for the Universal Studios Field Trip, the yearbook, dance tickets, and more? Then pick up an application to work at our library’s circulation desk. You may choose to work before school or during brunch and lunch, one day a week. See Mrs. Fulleman for an application or if you need further information. All applications are due to our library by 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 13th.
Plainsmen Progress Day: Hey Plainsmen! This upcoming Tuesday is Plainsmen Progress Day! Students can stay after school from 1:06–2:10 to get some extra help from their teachers and make up missing assignments! Don’t miss out on this opportunity if you know that you can boost your grades a bit or benefit from some extra help!
Brown Bag Presentation: Attention 7th Graders, our next library Brown Bag Presentation is today at lunchtime. We will have a Japanese Tea Ceremony, presented by Japanese cultural experts. Ask your world history teacher for a free ticket so that you may enjoy the tea and sweets that we will provide. You may also bring your lunch and eat in the library during this event. Don’t miss out on this centuries-old tradition. Students without tickets will be admitted as seating permits.
After School Painting Class: If you like Painting with a Twist or Paint Nite events, you’re going to love this! Sierra Vista is having a FREE painting class after school today from 2:15-3:30 pm. The first 25 to get a permission slip from Mrs. Knolls in the counseling office will get all the materials they need to paint a Snowman Scene for the holidays! Don’t delay because spots will fill up fast! If you have questions, please see Mrs. Flaherty in room 615.
DFY In SCV Club Meeting: Attention all DFY in SCV Members: Our next Club Meeting is Monday, December 9th during lunch in room 612.
Winter Dance: We hope you’re ready for the next dance of the year. The “Winter in Paris” dance will be on Friday, December 13th, from 5-7:30pm. This dance will include dinner from Stonefire, DJ, hot chocolate, and so much more! Tickets will be on sale this Thursday and Friday for the early-bird price of $10. On Monday and Tuesday, tickets will cost $12, Wednesday and Thursday for $15, and Friday for $20. This dance ALWAYS sells out, so don’t wait to purchase your ticket. Party Pack members are already on the list to attend the dance, so they don’t need to purchase a ticket. Dress guidelines for the dance will be posted around campus, so please view them BEFORE you purchase any dance attire. Students cannot purchase a ticket if they are on the LOP list, and they must stay for the entire dance for safety reasons. Please see Mrs. Terranova in room 621 if you have any questions.
Spirit Point Standings: Check out the spirit point standings as of December 4th! After the Turkey Week events, we now have SPURS in the lead! Stay tuned for the next opportunity to help your team earn spirit points!
Fun Friday: Come out to Fun Friday at lunch to have a good time and play jingle bell toss. Try tossing jingle bells into cups, for each one you make you get a piece of candy.
Healthy Lifestyles Club Recognition: Monday the 9th at lunch, ASB will be having a club recognition for Healthy Lifestyles Club. Come out to the outdoor stage to join the club or participate in a sit-up competition. If you do 15 sit-ups in 30 seconds you get a healthy snack.
