SV Library Cat: Attention all students. The nominated names for the SV Library Cat are in. Now you can vote for your favorite by going to the SV Library’s website and click the link. We’ll announce the winning name during the week of Feb. 18.

Universal 8th Grad Bash: 8th graders, don’t forget that this year’s end of the year field trip will be to Universal Studios Grad Bash on Friday, May 22! African American History Month: The month of February is African American History Month! Rosa Parks was a civil rights activist who, on December 1, 1955, refused to surrender her seat to a white passenger on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama. Her defiance sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This took place from December 5, 1955, to December 20, 1956, and is regarded as the first large-scale U.S. demonstration against segregation. Its success launched nationwide efforts to end racial segregation of public facilities.
