California State Parks | Getting Wise to Sea Level Rise with California State Parks
|
Join California State Parks and the California Coastal Commission for the fourth annual livestreaming event highlighting the winter 2020 king tides in California. Follow along as we provide a statewide snapshot of these natural high water occurrences along California’s coast. During this special program we visit eight California State Parks along the coast from San Diego to Eureka to raise awareness of sea level rise and its impacts on our coastline. Special guests California Natural Resources Secretary Wade Crowfoot and State Parks Director Armando Quintero address Californians in the conclusion of the program. If you are visiting one of your favorite local beaches during king tides, you can participate in the ongoing California King Tides Project hosted by the California Coastal Commission. Take photos of your shoreline at peak high tide and submit them to the project. More information and local king tide dates and times can be found at: www.coastal.ca.gov/kingtides/participate.html (c) SCVTV 2020
