The ocean is alluringly beautiful, yet it is also relentless and can be deadly throughout the year along the California coast. It can be especially dangerous during the winter months regardless of what stretch of the California coastline you are visiting. Winter months bring high energy, long period swells that can catch you off guard if you are not aware of the conditions.
