American Cancer Society’s Senior Development Manager Abby Smith and SCV Relay for Life Volunteer Kathleen Pavard share why everyone should consider participating in this year’s Relay for Life event, titled “May the Cure Be With You.”

This year’s theme is all about the battle for the cure and, with Relay for Life falling on May 4, 2024, organizers have centered the theme on a classic franchise: “Star Wars”. “May the Cure Be With You” is bringing together cancer survivors, their loved ones, and those invested in raising funds to develop critical research for cancer treatments at Central Park.

As a full day event, going from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on May 4, Relay for Life is more than a walk; organizers are planning various activities that are sure to inspire everyone to continue fighting for cures for cancer.
