On this episode of SCVTV’s Community Corner, we hear from the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for Children’s Cancer and the local Elks Lodge, who each share about a couple of exciting events they have coming up. Plus, we learn about how you can get involved in this year’s River Rally. Additionally, we sit down with the William S. Hart Union High School District’s Interim Superintendent and learn about his background, the district’s programs, and other initiatives. Also, we hear about Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s “Diabetes Support Group”. Plus, we meet an adorable, adoption-ready pup from Castaic Animal Care Center. Finally, we hear about the “Food for Fines” program on a brand new “This Week in Santa Clarita”. After, we meet Interim Superintendent of William S. Hart Union High School District Dr. Michael Vierra, who gives us some insight on his background, as well as shares more about the current and upcoming initiatives throughout the District. Then, City of Santa Clarita Project Technician Lindsay Schmandt discusses the upcoming annual River Rally and Environmental Expo, sharing what volunteers and attendees can expect from this fun and impactful event. After, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s Program Coordinator David Bernard shares how the Hospital’s “Diabetes Support Group” is helping those with diabetes and pre-diabetes find community, assistance, and knowledge that empowers them in their health journey. Following this, Santa Clarita Elks Lodge’s Exalted Ruler AKA President Wayne Edwards and the Elks Car and Bike Show Chairman Jay Larkins gives us all the fun and exciting details about their upcoming “Car & Bike Show”, which is sure to be a day of fun and revelry. After, Castaic Animal Care Center Volunteers Paul Martinsen and Maggie Martinsen introduce us to the “paw-some” and adoption ready Betty. Finally, we learn about the Santa Clarita Public Library’s “Food for Fines” program on a brand new episode of “This Week in Santa Clarita”.
