On this special episode of SCVTV’s Community Corner, we feature segments produced by the College and Career Readiness Career Technical Education student crew! These talented William S. Hart Union High School District students have crewed SCVTV’s Community Corner for the past 10 weeks, filling camera, control room, audio, and behind the scenes roles, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in a professional production environment. For this episode, the students not only filled these positions, but also pitched and wrote segments, and co-hosted the show.

Kicking off the show, host Dave Caldwell introduces our special, CCR CTE TV Experience student host Katie Cochran, a sophomore at West Ranch High School. Katie shares more about why she signed-up for the Career Technical Education TV Experience course and what she hopes to do in her future career.

Then, Canyon High School Spanish teacher Kelly Seidenkranz shares her inspiring story of how she overcame a serious medical condition and why she continues to inspire those around her to live life to the fullest. This segment was produced by CTE TV Experience student Amelia Sivaborvorn.

After, Valencia High School student and President/Creator of the Hart District Film Festival Cameron Gezerseh shares his story of creating this popular, district-wide event that brings burgeoning film talent from across the district together, in celebration of their creativity. This segment was produced by CTE TV Experience student Luke Landress.

Following this, Castaic Animal Care Center Volunteers–and father-daughter duo–Paul and Maggie Martinsen introduce us to Rani the Belgian Malinois, a sweet dog ready to find her forever family.

Finally, we get a behind-the-scenes look at our CTE TV Experience student crew and hear from their teacher, Saugus High School’s Wade Williams, who shares why the CTE TV Experience program is vital to giving students hands-on experience.
