There is more to libraries than just books! In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Ellie Kalman, Senior Librarian for the city of Santa Clarita, highlights the slate of free, back-to-school resources available for students and parents.

From preschoolers, who are beginning their literacy journey, to high schoolers who are navigating their way to becoming college-ready, the Santa Clarita Library is an amazing resource for students and parents to access a variety of online, on-the-go resources from home.

Included in the library’s arsenal of databases, are resources such as ABCMouse, where young minds can practice their letters, numbers and sounds, Mango Languages, where students and community members alike can enhance their skills for true language learning in over 60 languages and HelpNow, where students can receive live, online help with homework everyday from 1 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Having a library card also gives the community access to computers and study rooms where groups are able to work on projects in a more quiet setting.
