SCVTV's Community Corner | Sept. 6: Honoring Lives Lost on 9/11 at Guardians Patriot Day Car Show, Breakfast

As we approach the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people, a nonprofit support group of firefighters, military, and law enforcement officers is continuing the promise made that day to “”Never Forget.” Guardians is hosting its fifth annual Patriot Day Car Show and Breakfast Saturday, Sept. 6, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Gateway Promenade in the Higher Vision Church parking lot at 28776 The Old Road, Valencia, CA 91355. Tim Traurig, president and founder of Guardians Santa Clarita Valley, and Jon O’Sullivan, veteran and facilitator of Guardians San Fernando Valley, give us a sneak peek of the free, family-friendly event which will feature a variety of classic cars, music, resource booths and a Condor Squadron Flyover. Kids can look forward to slot car racing, balloon animals, crafts and a mobile library. While the event will include a slew of activities and entertainment, Patriot Day is meant to be a day of reflection and remembrance. It’s a way for the community to come together and commemorate the 9/11 fallen heroes who bravely served and sacrificed. Traurig and O’Sullivan also reflect on the life-changing impact Guardians has had on them. For more information, visit https://guardiansscv.org/911-event.
