SCVTV's Community Corner | Hear How You Can Make a Difference with Santa Clarita’s Food for Fines Campaign
|
|
September is Hunger Action Month and the Santa Clarita Public Library is bringing back its meaningful initiative, “Food for Fines.” The monthlong campaign allows residents to pay off their library fines (of up to $20) by donating non-perishable food items and toiletries to any of the three Santa Clarita Clarita branches (Old Town Newhall, Valencia and Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library). Ariana Bilek, library administrator for the city of Santa Clarita, explains how the donations will support The Salvation Army, Santa Clarita Food Pantry and Santa Clarita Grocery. If you don’t have library fees, you can still participate in the program and make an impact. For more information, visit https://santaclarita.gov/.
