More from This Week’s Guest Lineup

The show kicks off with co-hosts Dave Caldwell and Carrie Lujan sharing some important community milestones and events, include Saugus High School recently celebrating its 50 year anniversary and the upcoming All Valley showcase, where some high school bands from across the SCV and San Fernando Valley will have a chance to demonstrate their talents and skills. The showcase will take place Saturday, Sept. 20 at Valencia High School. Gates open at 6 p.m.

The hosts then welcome the members of the Agua Dulce Women’s Club, who are making their first appearance on the show. Susan Slamer, club president, and Missy Wilson, head of media and marketing, give us a fun sneak preview of its annual parade and fair, which is ADWC’s premiere fundraiser.

Haley Lawton, library administrator for the city of Santa Clarita, highlights the meaningful River Rally and Environmental Expo, set for Saturday, Sept. 20, from from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. This year’s River Rally will be held along Wiley Canyon Road, off the Via Princessa Bridge, east of Orchard Village Road. Volunteers can sign up and make an impact by cleaning a portion of the Santa Clara riverbed just west of Railroad Avenue.

Following that, we hear from Bryan Wilson, principal of Golden Oak Adult School, where he spotlights the various programs that meet the unique needs of students. The programs focus on the hands-on training and real-world skills that are vital in the ever-changing workforce. Golden Oak also offers community, do-it-yourself courses for those who want to pursue personal interests or build community connections.

Next up, we talk to Laura Chesler and Olga Campbell, co-chairs for Soroptimist International of Valencia’s Bras for a Cause, who give us the scoop on this year’s festivities. The annual fundraiser benefits breast cancer support services, early detection programs and ongoing research.

Our good friends at Outta the Cage make a return visit with two gorgeous four-legged friends who are more than ready for their forever homes. Co-Founders Jill Dyche and Tamara Dull brought along Petunia, the adorable German Shepherd who was hit by a car, but has made a full recovery. The duo also reintroduced us to the oh-so-handsome Milo, the charming pup who’s made lots of friends with his charming personality. Dyche also previewed the organization’s annual fundraiser, “One Liner Madness,” which is slated for Sept. 19, at 8 p.m., at The Paramount, 2708 E Cesar E Chavez Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90033

Finally, the city of Santa Clarita has reopened the William S. Hart Park Ranch House for self-guided tours. Learn how you can step back in time and discover what life was like for movie legend William S. Hart and how his legacy will be forever linked to the Santa Clarita Valley on a brand new episode of, “This Week in Santa Clarita.”
