SCVTV's Community Corner | Sept. 20: Agua Dulce Women’s Club Annual Fair & Parade
|
|
Founded in 1948, the Agua Dulce Women’s Club started off with a group of just 10 women who wanted to build a clubhouse and give back to the community. And now, 77 years later, the clubhouse still remains, while the club has grown into a 150-member group that continues its meaningful mission to this day. Susan Slamer, club president, and Missy Wilson, head of media and marketing, give us a fun and vibrant sneak preview of the annual Agua Dulce Country Parade & Fair, which is slated for Saturday, Sept. 20. The event also doubles as the club’s premiere fundraiser for the community. Proceeds from the event will benefit local youth groups and seniors. The event will feature live entertainment, flyovers, petting zoo, interactive games – many of which are Star Wars themed, food trucks, local craft vendors and a lot of shopping, which opens at 2 p.m. The parade will begin at 4 p.m. and the fair starts at 5 p.m. Slamer also highlighted the club’s Pacific Crest Trail lunch, which is held once a year and brings together international hiking communities from Australia, England, Korea and Hong Kong, just to name a few.
