It’s time to level up your child’s reading with the “1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” challenge, a nationwide initiative designed to foster a love of literacy and lifelong learning!

Hosted by the Santa Clarita Public Library, the challenge does not just encompass reading and books. But also includes writing, singing, talking and playing.

Michael Merino, marketing and outreach coordinator for the city of Santa Clarita, shines light on the need for this initiative and also shares all the fun details of the program, which includes rewards and recognition towards each milestone reached.
