On October 11, 2025, the BBMS Happy Children Memorial Fund will host its first-ever Poker Run Fundraiser to support families in recovery from addiction and survivors of domestic violence.

For anyone new to the idea, instead of a typical race, a poker run is all about the journey. Riders and drivers travel to different checkpoints to collect cards, building their best poker hand along the way. The fun ends at the Salt Lick Tavern in Lake Hughes, where the winning hand will take home a 5-day, 4-night stay in Cancun, generously donated by Cancun Cards.

The nonprofit was founded in 2018 in memory of Brianna Brandy Millard Smith (BBMS), whose life was tragically cut short in 2013. Determined to honor her legacy of compassion, her family created the organization to support families in recovery from addiction and survivors of domestic violence. Last year, the organization provided holiday support for 46 families, and this year, they hope to double that number with the community’s support. Funds raised from the Poker Run will go directly toward toys, clothing, diapers, food, and holiday meals for families in need during the holiday season.
