The new school year is well underway and with that comes the return of the city of Santa Clarita’s Parenting for Prevention initiative which aims to raise awareness about substance abuse among children.

Corey Allaway, program specialist for the city of Santa Clarita, shares insight into the life-saving program that provides parents, caregivers and students valuable information on how to maintain and live a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.

The campaign also gives families an opportunity to engage with trusted professionals about drug prevention, mental health, and online safety.

Parenting for Prevention has expanded its outreach to include bilingual podcasts, parent meetings and Thoughtful Third Thursdays, which offers parents quick, on-demand information through monthly social media posts.
