In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, Naomi Young, board president of the Santa Clarita Artists Association (SCAA), and Caroline Law, general manager of Brewery Draconum, give us a fun sneak preview of the upcoming Old Town Newhall Fine Art Festival, slated for Oct. 11-12.

SCAA, along with the Old Town Newhall Association, will bring together an amazing array of talented artists from all across Southern California for the two-day event, which will include the return of the highly-popular chalkart, live music, face-painting, and art activities the whole family can take part in.

While Main Street in Old Town Newhall will be shut down, the surrounding theaters, boutiques, restaurants and wine-tasting rooms will still be open for business.

Restaurants such as Brewery Draconum will also have a booth with tasty offerings unique to the event itself, such as sweet potato fries, caprese sandwich with pesto aioli and shredded chicken sandwich with garlic aioli. The booth will be open both days from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Art festival hours:

Oct. 11: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Oct. 12: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
