|
|
The Santa Clarita Symphony Orchestra opens its new season Oct. 12 and will do so with a brand new conductor! J.R. Hills, board president, said the theme for this upcoming season will be centered around the musical roots of SCSO’s musicians and the Santa Clarita community. The kick off to the concert season will also mark a homecoming for Alex Arellano, SCSO’s new conductor. Arellano spent most of his childhood in Northern California, but continued to have close ties with his relatives in Los Angeles, including cousins who attended to Hart High School. Arellano said he’s looking forward to starting a new chapter and bringing energy and excitement to his group of talented musicians. Hills also shared some exciting news about the upcoming Youth Concerto Competition. Opening performance will be held Oct. 12, at 4 p.m. at Canyon High School Performing Arts Center.
