SCVTV's Community Corner | Oct. 26: American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life
|
|
A beloved community tradition that honors canine caregivers returns and is back and better than ever! The American Cancer Society’s annual Bark for Life will take place Sunday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Canyon Country Community Center. Brad Peach, event chair, and Abby Smith, senior development manager for ACS, give us a sneak preview of the family-friendly event where canine caregivers take center stage. Smith brought along her adorable pup Wyatt, who’s dressed as Wyatt Earp. The event highlights the special companionship between canines and cancer patients. And because Bark for Life is held during spooky season, pups are encouraged to wear costumes. The event is the official kick off to ACS’ 2026 Relay for Life and funds raised will benefit research, patient services and ongoing efforts to end cancer. The fun-filled event will include activities such as costume contests, peanut butter eating contest and a human dog barking competition. Pre-registration is highly recommended.
