Brittany Markham and her son Damian made a special return to SCVTV’s Community Corner to invite the community once again to “Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House and Bake Sale.”

Damian was diagnosed with ASMD Type A, a rare and fatal genetic disorder, which is often referred to as Baby Alzheimer’s. Proceeds from the event support the Wylder Nation Foundation, whose mission is to fund research and treatments that would slow the progression of ASMD Type A.

Markham shared a promising update on Damian’s prognosis, which includes a growth spurt that even surprised herself. She credits that to the treatments Damian is currently undergoing. He was not expected to reach his third birthday – Damian is now six and a half.

This year’s family-friendly Halloween walk-through will include fun, new additions, including an adorable train, Disney characters and a cute photo opportunity. And the sweet treats available for purchase are from some of the Santa Clarita Valley’s best bakers.

“Damian’s Not-So-Haunted House and Bake Sale” is heading into its final weekend, with the final night being Saturday, Nov. 1. Markham hopes to raise $15,000 by that time.
