In this segment of SCVTV’s Community Corner, we meet Brandon Barclay, the new Captain of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Barclay reflects on his 20-year journey as a deputy with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, including his roles as sergeant, being on the mental health evaluation team, detective and crisis negotiator.

Barclay also highlighted just some of the focus areas he plans to tackle as Captain such as public safety, homelessness outreach, the uptick in e-bikes and e-motorcycle accidents and juvenile curfews.

And with Halloween coming up, Barclay shared some tips for keeping families safe while trick-or-treating.
