Nonprofit/PSA | Technology Learning Community Brings Hands-On Support to Veterans
|
|
The Technology Learning Community, or TLC, spearheaded by Ryleigh Getz and Xander Graham, hosted a session at the SCV Veterans Services Collaborative, providing Veterans with one-on-one, hands-on technology support. During the event, young adult volunteers assisted participants with devices, apps, and other digital tools, while also engaging them in memory games to strengthen cognitive abilities. The session even included a round of karaoke, creating a fun and interactive environment for everyone involved. TLC pairs young adult volunteers with seniors, giving young people a chance to connect with older generations and learn from their experiences. Advisors like Quynh Qutch and coordinators like Christian Baljet make sure each event runs smoothly, guiding the student volunteers. Through initiatives like this, SCV youth are not only helping veterans and seniors embrace technology, but also fostering meaningful intergenerational connections that benefit the whole community.
