The American Red Cross recently declared a severe drop in the nation’s blood supply and the organization is asking communities to step up and make a difference.

Jayson Buckley, executive director of the American Red Cross Northern Valleys Chapter, shines light on the effects of the low blood supply which is already having an impact on hospitals, transfusion centers and patients.

Buckley also highlights the many successful blood drives throughout the Santa Clarita Valley, which includes the upcoming Battle of the Badges blood drive taking place on Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the SCV Sheriff’s Station.
