The William S. Hart Union School District Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Safety and Wellness Kathy Hunter and District Social Worker of Culture & Climate Ira Rounsaville give an update on their goals and what the district has been doing to continue fostering a positive and safe environment across all their campuses.

Ira Rounsaville, the District’s Social Worker of Culture & Climate, reviews and discusses how the school year has been so far. With this being the first full school year implementing this new role, Ira shares how certain goals and action items have been implemented across the district’s 16 school sites.

Kathy Hunter, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services, Safety and Wellness, has also been overseeing the new role and shares why these goals are imperative to this district’s core guiding principals.

Ira’s role has been centered around “developing and implementing programs and practices that support social-emotional learning, conflict resolution, and restorative practices,” according to the Hart District website.

He has also been working with teachers and faculty to ensure that students feel supported within the classroom as well.
