The California Science Center in Exposition Park welcomes the Space Shuttle Endeavour back home to Southern California with all of the pomp and pageantry of a homecoming parade. Witness the classic American icon in its new home at the Samuel Oschin Pavilion and glimpse its immense engines, enjoy close up views of its well-worn tiles and stroll beneath the wings that glided it safely to earth throughout dozens of missions. Supplementing the display is a second exhibit "Endeavour: The California Story" which displays the shuttle’s actual tires, some kitchen and bathroom equipment and the actual command center used to monitor the engines during liftoff. And witness two other larger than life icons of Americana; travel with us to sunny Palm Springs, California to admire "Forever Marilyn," the 26 foot tribute to Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe posing in her famous billowing dress publicity photo. Then see the world’s largest potato, a giant 28 foot sculpture towed on a semi tractor trailer which is serving as an ambassador for the Idaho Potato Commission.
