SCVTV is looking for a Production Assistant intern to assist with producing community access and original shows, Public Service Announcements for nonprofits; publish videos to the scvtv.com website and the PEG channel. SCVTV interns must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Intern must have a positive attitude with a willingness to be self-starting and motivated.

The SCVTV Community Media Center is a space where the convergence of creatives, historians, educators, students, nonprofits, media professionals, and businesses collaborate to create high-quality, localized tv and web programming for the Santa Clarita Valley.
For more than 25 years, SCVTV’s mission has been to operate the City of Santa Clarita’s Public, Educational, Governmental Access (PEG) cable channels (Spectrum 20 & AT&T 99) and Community Media Center under contract with the Santa Clarita Public Television Authority; to provide its platform and media services through community access and original programming opportunities that highlight local arts and culture (Finding Art), musicians (Soundcheck), history (SCV in the Movies, Legacy, documentaries), and a weekly magazine interview show (SCVTV’s Community Corner) about education, government, nonprofits and civic affairs.
SCVTV is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and we are the only television station based in Santa Clarita, exclusively covering the area. We take that responsibility into consideration with all of our operations.

Hart Union High School District and the Saugus, Newhall, Sulphur Springs and Castaic school districts.

Qualifications:
– Must have some experience in social media, communications, TV production or journalism experience is a plus
– Must have an interest in and familiarity with the local community.
– Preferred coursework in History, Graphic Design, Fine Art, Photography, Video Production, English
– Must be able to commit to at least two 4-hour shifts per week MINIMUM for the duration of the semester.Â
