New Traffic Signals Installed and Operating at Sagecrest Circle at The Old Road in Sunset Pointe
SANTA CLARITA VALLEY At the direction of Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, new traffic signals have been installed and activated at the northern and southern intersections of Sagecrest Circle and the Old Road in Sunset Pointe.
"The signals will significantly reduce delays and enhance traffic safety and mobility for our Sunset Pointe residents at the primary intersections into and out of their neighborhoods," said Supervisor Antonovich.
Bordered by open space on the north, west, and south, Sunset Pointe residents utilize the north and south openings of Sagecrest Circle at the Old Road as their sole means of ingress and egress. The main north-south arterial serving residents and businesses west of the Interstate 5 Freeway, the Old Road experiences high traffic volumes in the peak commuter hours or when used as an alternative to Interstate 5. This creates significant delays for Sunset Pointe residents as they make left or right turns entering or exiting their community onto the Old Road.
The stoplights were installed by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works at a cost of $350,000.
