Measure R Victory Lap Premature
LOS ANGELES COUNTY Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich called Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's victory lap celebrating passage of Measure R premature.
"The hanging thread of Measure R's passage will be cut if the supporters receive less than 65% of the more than 600,000 remaining uncounted votes," said Antonovich.
Supervisors Antonovich and Gloria Molina had called for a NO vote on Measure R because of their strong support of developing a regional county transportation plan. Measure R is more of the same vested interest's heavy-handed plan that did not meet all of our county's transportation needs.
Antonovich also questioned the legality of an $800,000 donation by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to the Measure R campaign.
