Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony Dec. 13
The 3rd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony to honor our troops will be held, once again, at the Veterans Historical Plaza in downtown Newhall on Saturday, December 13 at 7:00 pm.
The event will include speakers, music, carolers, and the lighting of the red, white, and blue lights on a 25 foot tree. The community has been invited to submit photos of their military loved ones (active duty, Reserves, Veterans and Fallen Heroes) to be hung on the tree on decorating day, December 12.
This is a collaborative venture involving the Historical Veterans Memorial Committee, Blue Star Mothers Chapters 82 and 91, and Prayer Angels for the Military. The entire community is invited to join along in honoring all our military this holiday season, and to share in some holiday cheer. Refreshments will be served.
The event will be a brief, warm, homey evening to celebrate our hometown heroes. Marilyn Hackett, local singer/play write will be among the performers to sing traditional holiday songs.
