Palmdale — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will
close one lane north- and southbound SR-138 as part of a project to
construct a new roundabout intersection. Closures are as follows:
Beginning Monday, March 30 ending Wednesday, April 1:
• 9 a.m. Monday, March 30 through 5 p.m. Friday, April 1 — one lane
SR-138 in each direction between 47th Street East and Palmdale
Boulevard.
Thursday, April 2 and Friday, April 3:
• 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. — one lane of SR-138 in each direction between 47th
Street East and Palmdale Boulevard.
During construction, one lane will remain open in each direction at all
times. Businesses will remain open during construction. Traffic delays are
expected.
Granite Construction is the contractor on the $19.56 million project, which
is estimated for completion fall of 2010.
