Southbound I-5 Onramp Closure at Magic Mountain Parkway
Closure Part of City's Intersection and Freeway Ramp Expansion Project
The southbound on-ramp to Interstate 5 will be closed for construction from January 13-March 1, 2009. The south side of Magic Mountain Parkway between The Old Road and Tourney Road will also be closed.
Detours for the closures on the morning of Tuesday, January 13 are as follows:
· • Traffic on Magic Mountain Parkway between The Old Road and Tourney Road will be shifted to the north side and the newly constructed roadway.
· • There will be two lanes open in each direction during construction.
· • Both the southbound off-ramp and the northbound on-ramp will be re-opened.
· • Motorists needing to access the southbound I-5 may do so via The Old Road, Tourney Road, Rye Canyon Road or Valencia Boulevard. Signs will be posted to direct commuters using these alternate routes.
All businesses in the surrounding affected area, including Six Flags Magic Mountain, will remain open during construction.
The closures are part of a multi-phase construction project to expand the Magic Mountain/Old Road intersection, as well as the on and off-ramps to Interstate 5.
