Newhall Community Center's Boxing Program to Host Sanctioned Amateur Boxing Show
The Santa Clarita Community Center Boxing program will exhibit a sanctioned USA Boxing Amateur Boxing Show on March 14, 2009. Amateur boxers from around the state, including from the Newhall Community Center, will compete for championship belts in their respective weight divisions.
Doors open to the public at 1 p.m. and admission is $5 per guest. Seating is limited, so early arrival is suggested. All matches are officiated and sanctioned by USA boxing.
The Newhall Community Center's boxing program has trained numerous Golden Glove champions since its creation in 1994. The program helped hone the skills of several professional boxers, including NABF super bantamweight champion, Juan Ruiz Jr. The Community Center's boxing program runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Center.
