City Hosts Drug and Alcohol Licensee Program Class
Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Licensed Businesses Encouraged to Attend
The City of Santa Clarita and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Station will host a FREE Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs (LEAD) Class on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Santa Clarita City Council Chambers.
The LEAD seminar will provide attendees with information on what is acceptable I.D.; the best way to check I.D.; how to refuse service; signs and prevention of illicit drug activity as well as the criminal and civil liability for each business that holds a current ABC license and its employees. A representative from the local office of the State of California, Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) will be on hand to discuss changes in California alcohol laws as well as the minor decoy sweep program.
It is important that all businesses with a current ABC license in the Santa Clarita Valley have a representative attend this program. The curriculum is designed for licensees, managers, and/or employees.
This informational class will include a complimentary lunch and provide certification to all those that attend and complete the program.
The Sheriff's Department offers the class at no charge to prevent business owners from unknowingly placing themselves at risk for losing their ABC License.
The Santa Clarita City Council Chambers are located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard. For more information on the Class or to RSVP visit www.SCVSheriff.com or call the City at 661/286-4071.
