The City of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce will posthumously induct actor Joel McCrea into the Walk of Western Stars on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The unveiling of Mr. McCrea's bronze and terrazzo plaque will take place in front of the Way Station Coffee Shop in historic Old Town Newhall.

DeMille's Union Pacific. In the 1959, McCrea starred in the NBC-TV series Witchita Town. McCrea was married for 57 years to actress Frances Dee, raising their three sons in the Conejo Valley. McCrea died in 1990 at the age of 84.
"We are so pleased to make Joel McCrea a part of the Walk of Western Stars," said Mayor Pro Tem Laurene Weste. "His legacy in classic western films is legendary and we are proud to honor him by adding his name to Downtown Newhall's landscape."
The Downtown Newhall Merchants Association produced the Walk of Western Stars to honor western film, television, and radio legends. The Way Station Coffee Shop is a City landmark and has been serving breakfast and lunch for more than 30 years, located at 24377 Main Street in Old Town Newhall.
