Workshop Helps Businesses Thrive in Tough Economy
The City of Santa Clarita and other local business organizations will host a free Doing Business in a Tough Economy workshop on Tuesday, June 2 from 9-11:30 a.m. in the Santa Clarita Room at the Santa Clarita Activities Center. The workshop will show small businesses how to plan, prepare and prevail in a tough economy.
The free workshop will feature information on loan programs and technical assistance services, including Recovery Act initiatives, provided by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Keynote speakers will also show guests how to survive during a down economy and provide business planning tips. A brief presentation will be given regarding incentives available through the City's Enterprise Zone Program and attendees will also learn what lenders look for in the current economic climate in regards to loans and lines of credit.
"The best way to make sound business decisions in any economic climate is to be informed," said Santa Clarita Mayor Frank Ferry. "The City's Doing Business in a Tough Economy workshop teaches local business owners about loan programs, strategic planning and available incentives- all in one free class."
Seating at the workshop is limited and those wishing to attend must RSVP with Patrick Bryant, Administrative Analyst for the City of Santa Clarita at (661) 255-4902. Guests are asked to arrive at the Activities Center between at 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. for registration on the day of the workshop.
The Activities Center is located at 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway. For more information on the City's Doing Business in a Tough Economy workshop, including a complete list of hosting organizations, please visit santa-clarita.com.
