Planning Commission Study Session on Local Environmental Sustainability
The City of Santa Clarita will host a Planning Commission Study Session on local environmental sustainability issues. The meeting will be held in City Hall's first floor Century Room on Tuesday, July 21 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The presentation will be divided into three parts and will highlight activities and programs currently underway with the City of Santa Clarita, Southern California Edison, and within the local development community.
"The City's Planning Commission Study Session is designed to teach community members about current and significant sustainability efforts and initiatives in Santa Clarita," said Mayor Frank Ferry. "The Study Session will feature vital information for the benefit of community residents, businesses, planners and builders."
The meeting will include an overview of the City's new "green" website, greensantaclarita.com, presented by City Planning division staff, and information on rebate programs available for photo-voltaic solar systems presented by Javier Burgos, Project Manager of the California Solar Initiative with Southern California Edison. Don Schram, President of the Green Convergence, will also share success stories related to the integration of "green" elements into development projects.
City Hall is located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard. For more information on the upcoming Planning Commission Study Session, please contact David Peterson, Assistant Planner II for the City of Santa Clarita's Planning division, at (661) 284-1406, or visit santa-clarita.com.
