Put On Your Boots and Head to Central Park as the 2009 Concert Series Continues
"Concerts In the Park" Goes Country with the Doo Wah Riders
The City of Santa Clarita's 2009 Concerts in the Park series continues this Saturday, July 25 with a performance by the "Doo Wah Riders," who will bring their brand of energetic Country music to the Central Park stage at 7 p.m. The Concerts in the Park series is free to attend and will continue every Saturday evening at 7 p.m. through August 29.
The Doo-Wah Riders have ridden the Country Music range for 20 years, opening for such acts as Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alabama and Faith Hill. The band brought their music across the United States and Canada and will now bring their Nashville sound to the City of Santa Clarita.
"Hundreds of community members come out every week to enjoy the popular Concerts in the Park series," said Mayor Frank Ferry. "Last week's show featured a hard rock cover band and now the series will switch gears, showcasing the Doo Wah Riders' upbeat Country sound for attendees of all ages to enjoy."
The Concerts in the Park series is held at Santa Clarita's Central Park and is one of the City's most popular summertime traditions year after year. The 2009 talent lineup features returning favorites and first-time bands, providing non-stop fun for the whole family.
Central Park is located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road. For more information on the 2009 Concerts in the Park series, please contact the City's Arts and Events office at (661) 286-4018 or visit www.santa-clarita.com/concerts.
