City Celebrates "A Season of Diversity"
The City of Santa Clarita is officially kicking-off A Season of Diversity in the month of October. A Season of Diversity is a program designed to promote cultural understanding in our community. The City has scheduled a long list of events this year to support cultural diversity in the community by honoring the rich cultural tapestry of Santa Clarita. This year the Season of Diversity will begin in October 2008 and will continue on until the end of February 2009.
This years Season of Diversity programs and events are enriched by the partnership the City has with local libraries. This partnership allows for a wide variety of free events and programs like the speaker series that will begin in November. The libraries are also offering a variety of culturally diverse arts and crafts for youth. In addition, A Season of Diversity is also offering events and programs at local schools.
"A Season of Diversity provides our residents an opportunity to embrace numerous cultures while instilling the ideal that in Santa Clarita, everyone matters," said Mayor Bob Kellar.
These events which promote cultural understanding are all free of charge and are offered at locations throughout the City. The full calendar listing of the numerous educational and entertaining events is available on the City website at santa-clarita.com.
