City to Begin Street Improvements to Enhance Student Safety
The City of Santa Clarita will begin construction improvements at street crossings adjacent to CedarCreek Elementary School from November 17, 2008 through December 5, 2008. The project includes modifications at the intersection of Camp Plenty Road & Four Oaks Street.
To ensure public safety during construction operations, Camp Plenty Road will be closed to through traffic from Nadal Street to Cedarcreek Street. Access is provided to all local neighborhoods and detour signs will be placed at adjacent streets. A safe pedestrian pathway will be provided through the project site at all times which will continue to provide pedestrian access to students traveling to and from school.
The work includes removal and replacement of sidewalks, curb and gutter, paving, striping, and installation of school signage. The goal of this project is to enhance student safety by reducing the speed of vehicles near school grounds and increasing the visibility of school crossings.
All measures will be taken to complete the work in a safe and timely manner. For additional information about this project, please contact Curtis Nay in the City's Public Works Department at: (661) 286-4135.
