City Residents Benefit from Recent Metrolink Upgrades
The City's Via Princessa Metrolink Station has recently undergone numerous improvements and upgrades in response to a community need. These new upgrades add facilities to the Via Princessa Metrolink Station which include an 1100 sq. ft. building with a men's restroom and a women's restroom, a guard office, a janitor's closet and handicap parking upgrades and accessibility improvements.
"It is great that we are able to meet this demand that existed and bring these services to our residents who utilize the Via Princessa Metrolink," said Tara Concepcion, City Project Manager.
The station upgrades began in March of 2008, and took approximately 6 months to complete. Throughout the time of construction, there was no significant impact for commuters and travelers who utilized the Via Princessa stop. The amount spent on the project totaled $972,000 and came from Proposition A, Local Transit Funds.
The Via Princessa Metrolink Station is located at 19201 Via Princessa, off of Weyerhaeuser Way. For more information on the stations construction, please contact Tara Concepcion, City Assistant Engineer at (661) 255-4342.
