Rio TV Learns Post-Production at SCVTV

Rio Norte Junior High School's brand new video production club, Rio TV, traveled to Newhall this week to learn non-linear editing on state-of-the-art editing software.

About a dozen seventh and eighth-graders spent their week rio 5at the SCVTV Media Center learning to edit video on Final Cut Pro. They're producing an orientation video that will be seen by new students and parents during summer check-in.

Last week SCVTV staff members joined more than 40 ASB and Rio TV students on the campus of Rio Norte to teach them the basics of pre-production and production techniques.

Students worked in small groups to script, story-board and tape short films and Public Service Announcements aimed to inform new students and parents of school rules, upcoming events and on-campus clubs.
rio3Their summer projects wrapped up this week at the SCVTV Media Center as the students learned the process of post-production in a digital world.

Rio TV is led by Rio Norte science teacher Jase St. Peter.

The program introduces junior high school students to video production terms, techniques and practices. This year's Rio TV students will be the first to produce a live morning announcements program at Rio Norte Junior High School.
