Make a Difference Day 2008 Shaping Up to Make a Big Difference in SCV
SANTA CLARITA, CA (October 10, 2008) HandsOn Santa Clarita is pleased to report that 32 projects at 43 locations have been secured for Make A Difference Day, which will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008. At this point over 1,100 SCV residents have indicated they will be involved to make this event the largest Make A Difference Day in the SCV to date. "This is extremely gratifying to all of us who serve on the Board for HOSC", indicated Wade Reynolds, Board President. "For the last eight years the number of projects and volunteers has continued to increase. "Knowing that over this many SCV residents want to donate their time and talents proves how special this community is."
This year Boston Scientific Neuromodulation is serving as the presenting sponsor for Make A Difference Day. "As one of the largest employers in the Santa Clarita Valley, we owe it to our community to give back," stated Michael Onuscheck, Senior Vice President, Boston Scientific & President, Neuromodulation, who is serving as Honorary Chairman of the event. "Make A Difference Day touches the foundation of our community and strengthens its future. We are very proud to be the presenting sponsor of Make A Difference Day".
Make A Difference Day will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 25, with the MDD Kick-off Rally at Westfield Valencia Town Center which will include a light breakfast, an overview of the event and the SCV All-Star Cheerleaders. This will also serve as the opportunity for volunteers to obtain their t-shirt and prepare to get stared at 8:45. If you are interested in volunteering please refer to the information below.
