Annual Ernesto Pena Memorial Golf Tournament Set for September 28
Come join us for what promises to be a great day of golf, food and fun! Respiratory therapist Albert Barragan will once again host an annual golf tournament and barbecue dinner in memory of Ernie Pena, a long-term Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital employee and radiology technician who lost his life too soon due to cancer.
"He was a wonderful, intelligent friend," Albert said of Ernie. "The tournament is a way to get everybody together and have fun to celebrate his life. I figured it's a way to keep his name alive and give back."
The fourth annual Ernesto Pena Memorial Golf Tournament is slated for Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Elkins Ranch Golf Course in Fillmore. Tee time is 11 am., with a barbecue dinner to follow at 4:30 pm
This year's event will be a 4-person best ball scramble format and includes golf contests, raffle prizes, and tournament awards. Registration is $110 per person, which includes golfer's fees and the barbecue dinner. Barbecue tickets can also be purchased separately for $20 per person.
This year's event looks to build on last year's successful tournament, which raised more than $2,000 for Henry Mayo's radiology department. Proceeds from this year's tournament will be donated to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Health Foundation and the Ernie Pena Radiology Fund.
