Henry Mayo Executive Recognized as One of San Fernando Valley's Top CFOs
VALENCIA, CA (August 7, 2008) The San Fernando Valley Business Journal acknowledged what Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital's staff and physicians already know C.R. "Bob" Hudson is a Top CFO.
One of 46 nominees for the "Top Valley CFOs" award, Hudson was recognized as the 2008 honoree for the "medium business" category during the inaugural award luncheon on August 6 at the Warner Center Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills. The category included organizations with revenues of $100 million to $499 million. Additional categories included large business, specialty enterprise, entrepreneur, and non-profit organizations.
The San Fernando Valley Business Journal award recognizes individuals who have shown exceptional experience and leadership in the field of finance, and have significantly contributed towards the achievement of the goals of their organization.
"The nominees were evaluated on their innovative management and executive capability in promoting the financial development of their organization," said Roger Seaver, president and CEO for Henry Mayo. "We are pleased that others recognize Bob's contributions, all of which have been instrumental in assuring Henry Mayo continues its mission of providing quality healthcare for the Santa Clarita Valley."
Hudson joined Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in 2001 as Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer. During his tenure, Henry Mayo has undergone extraordinarily positive changes, including a financial turnaround to one of the stronger performing Hospitals in California. As CFO, he is responsible for supply chain management, financial accounting and reporting, financial planning, revenue cycle management and treasury functions.
Hudson has lived in Valencia since 2001. In addition to his work at Henry Mayo, he volunteers his time and talents to various community organizations. He has been a member of the Sam Dixon Board for the past five years, served on their Finance and Audit Committees, and was the co-chair of the Rubber Ducky event for its first four years.
Hudson is committed to the community not only by volunteering his time, but demonstrates his commitment financially as well. He attends and supports numerous Henry Mayo and community charity events, including the annual Toyota Drive Safe Golf Classic, Holiday Home Tour, Boys & Girls Club Auction, Crawford-Fleming Breast Cancer Awareness Golf Invitational, Soroptimist Fashion Show, Amgen Tour and Relay For Life.
Hudson's extensive knowledge of health care finance has also proven to be of value in his professional affiliations. He is a member of HFMA, a professional society for health care finance where he received a Follmer Bronze Merit Award for outstanding service. Hudson also serves on the CFO Advisory Board to the Hospital Association of Southern California.
Hudson earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from San Diego State University and is a certified public accountant (non-practicing).
