The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, in coordination with the US Forest Service and other CARE partners, has announced that with the passing of the current storm system, it will reopen public access to all County roads within the Station Fire burn area as of 5:00 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, October 14.
As a result, the Angeles Forest Highway, Big Tujunga Canyon Road, and Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road, will be reopen to local residents, construction contractors, emergency vehicles and DPW personnel under its previous construction zone conditions. The roads remain closed to through traffic.
Public Works roadway engineers will continue to monitor the safety of road conditions. The roads will be reclosed to local traffic in the event of additional rain or storm forecasts. Motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when using the roads.
