Help LARC Ranch Keep Doors Open by Attending 50th Anniversary Celebration
LARC Ranch's annual fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, September 13 at LARC Ranch, will feature the smooth sounds of the Tom Nolan Orchestra. Cost is $125 for adults, $50 per child, or a package price of $325 per family, including buffet lunch.
All proceeds benefit the LARC Foundation, which is dedicated to helping developmentally disabled adults thrive through a variety of programs, including 13 residential care homes and an adult developmental center. However, due to the current California budget crises, all proceeds will go directly toward operations as opposed to designated upgrades. LARC has taken a 3% permanent funding cut, which amounts to $100,000 currently, with a probable funding cut of 7.1% come September. There is also $234 million that still needs to be cut, but no one knows where and when that will happen. In an effort to keep jobs and benefits in tact, LARC has cut back hours in both residential and day programs, as well as a variety of items from their regular budget.
